Home to some of the most high-profile brands in China, the Greater Bay Area is not short of entrepreneurs.

Their stories now have become the inspiration of performing arts.

Telling the story of two generations of entrepreneurs in the area, the dance drama "Tide of Era", as its name implies, exemplifies the era that has also witnessed China's development over the past 40 years.

A new era awaited as the door to an unknown world opened in the 1980s. The protagonist, with nothing in his pocket, began his entrepreneurial journey. Years later, his son came back to China after studying overseas to begin his own business amid the startup wave in the country.

Four time frames show the significance of the development of the startup rush: The beginning of the reform and opening-up, the 1990s, the 2000s and the present.
